Which study is best for you? With a home sleep study, the patient can sleep in the comfort of their own home and perform the test themselves using the sleep test equipment. The equipment is returned to the office and the data is read by your sleep physician to determine the presence of a sleep disorder. An in-lab sleep study requires the patient to spend the night in a sleep center. Usually arriving in the evening, the patient will fill out paperwork and settle into a room for the night. Although the in-lab study can be very accurate and can test for a wide range of sleep disorders, a home sleep study is primarily used to diagnose patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
If you or someone you know might be suffering from obstructive sleep apnea, please schedule an initial consultation today with Dr. Teruel at 480-945-3629 or visit us at www.headpaininstitute.com for more information.
